Dear Gianellian Family:

Easter places us once again before the dawn of the first day: “Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they arrived at the tomb” (Mark 16:2). In that silent dawn, the women appear who, amid the darkness of night, remained faithful. While many had lost hope or were paralyzed by fear, they walked with love to the tomb, carrying perfumes to anoint the Lord’s body.

Their simple and courageous gesture made them privileged witnesses to the greatest event in history. They were the first to discover that Life had conquered death.

They stayed awake when others slept. They knew how to wait for the dawn when everything seemed dark. Like true sentinels of hope, they were able to recognize the signs of new life that God was bringing forth amid pain and uncertainty.

May this Easter renew in us faith and hope, so that we may be courageous sentinels announcing God’s dawn amid this world, opening cracks of light in the darkness of our time, and joyfully proclaiming the Risen Lord.

Happy Easter!
