The General Government community is called to live in communion, to promote unity, and to value the richness of diversity within the Institute (cf. C. 185). It carries out its ministry of animation in the light of the Charism and in the mysticism of the Good Shepherd (N. A. 170).
The General Government consists of the Mother General and four Councilors who assist her in this service:
We are an institute of consecrated life born from the missionary heart of St. Anthony Mary Gianelli, an Italian priest who generously responded to a concrete need: to provide qualified teachers for the orphanage for girls in Chiavari.
Today, attentive to the signs of the times and faithful to our charism, we aspire to be vibrant communities, inspired by Mary of the Garden: Mother, model, and mediator. With joy, we manifest the beauty of the Gospel and accompany, with love and creativity, the integral formation of people, especially young people and those most in need, in communion with the universal Church.
We are committed to proclaiming the Gospel through education, pastoral care, and the promotion of human dignity. We foster spaces for encounter and care where each person can grow in freedom, faith, and responsibility, following the example of Mary and the charism of St. Anthony Gianelli.
Our service of charity in the Church is expressed as a selfless gift of self: “forgetting our own interests, our own comfort, and even ourselves.”
In communion, we joyfully take on the challenge of becoming all things to all people, in a service that knows no limit other than impossibility or inappropriateness, always following the example of Mary and the charism of St. Anthony Maria Gianelli.
We are women consecrated to God in the Institute (of pontifical right since 1868), founded by Saint Anthony Gianelli in Chiavari in 1829.
Mindful of the needs of our time, we propose to work for the good of all, with a special love for the poorest.
Help us make a difference in our communities and around the world; turn your 5×1000 donation into an act of solidarity and generosity.
